CABO, Mexico-RIVIERA RACING CELEBRATION PARTY
The Riviera Racing Team Party went well into the night last night,Friday, after the Awards Ceremony, Mark Post - Monster Energy Drink - Wide Open hosted the Off-road Party of the year marina side in Cabo last night. The finest foods, open smash-mouth bar and off road personalities including lumanaries from BF Goodrich Tires, No Worries Clothing and Bar & Grill, KMC Wheels and Baja Racing News.com drained the TECATE BEER and the bar until it was dry.
The Invitation Only event started along the marina early in the evening and went well past 1 AM. The Riviera Racing Team Baja 1000 Victory DVD was played on a big screen to the thrills of the huge enthusiastic and rowdy off road crowd. The wide open Baja 1000 DVD was also played with some 2007 off road season highlights thrown in, like Mark Posts "The hardest way to win the Baja 250" video and some of the CORR season.
Rob Mac, Todd Steen, BFG Dave and many other notables hammered the fine foods and breakout party favors. After almost 1300 miles of untamed Baja desert racing, Riviera pulled off the party of the year!
SURVIVORS PARTY-AWARDS CEREMONY
The weather that had been warm until mid-November, cooled off nicely for the Baja 1000 in Baja South. It was the first cool-down all season for the long suffering Baja Surenos, it was a hot summer. For the survivors and locals it was a great event, the winning celebrations were a pleasure to experience. The winning Mark Post-Riviera Racing Team, prompted friends and family to the evenings blow-out party later at No-Worry's.
SCORE chose well to have their final event on the beach in Cabo. The downtown location, first announced by SCORE would not have worked. On Friday morning, there was an inch of sewage running on the streets into the marina. Maybe Baja Sur Turismo should give the $100,000 it gave SCORE for the race, rather, to the County of Los Cabos to rectify that problem. We are sure Malibu needs more money. NOT!
THE OFFICE ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON
The other mentionable social was the afternoon seaside at The Office, on the Dune Beach in Cabo. The entire Herbst Racing family, Larry Roesler, Jim Baldwin and his family, Mark Post of Riviera Racing, Bob Gordon, Larry Ragland, Curt Leduc and many other race stars relaxed for the afternoon on the beach with their 2007 Baja 1000 experience in hand.
The great service, food and drinks of The Office in Cabo were enjoyed by all.
