AMA Pro Road Racer Gittere To Race In Baja 1000

GEICO Motorcycle’s C.R. Gittere to race in the 2008 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 November 20th-23rd.

C.R., an avid off road rider when he is not racing in the AMA Superbike series is looking forward to joining Rolf Helland, Matthew Davidson, and Kris Egbert for the race. “Lance Kane with LoJack connected me up with Tim Morton from Baja Bound and he mentioned he had a slot left on one of his Baja teams. So I immediately jumped at the opportunity. I am really looking forward to the race it’s one of those events on my bucket list. I have never really spent much time in the desert so I am going to fly down to Mexico after the final AMA race at Laguna and spend four days with Tim in the desert.”

The Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 is a race across the Baja peninsula in Mexico. The 2008 course starts and ends in Ensenada, Baja California. This year the team will be competing on a 2007 Honda XR650R. Tim Morton, who has been building bikes and operating race teams that compete in the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 for over 20 years. “It’s great to be connected up with some one like Tim. This is a tricky race the logistics to make it all happen are really complicated and Tim’s track record of success in unprecedented.”
