FORD Ranger Racer, International Ranger Raptor and the New Bronco Unveil Equipment

Update July 5, 2020

FORD Motor Company launched the 2021 Ford F-150 last week during a pre-taped event hosted by Denis Leary, an old pitchman for the truck. It’s also set to reveal its new 'Ford Bronco 4x4 family', July 13.

“The challenge that marketers face right now is that all of these reveals could look and feel the same”.
Matt VanDyke, director of Ford U.S. marketing, told BajaRacingNews.com

“I think that as an industry we’re going to have to really think about how we don’t let them all kind of become the same. We were really cognizant of that with Bronco. We really wanted to do something special”.
VanDyke explained.

Ford debuted the 2021 Ford F-150 during a pre-taped event June 26 hosted by really tired, Denis Leary, an out of date pitchman for the branded truck. Ford debuted the 2021 Ford F-150 during a pre-taped event June 26.

When Ford unveils its new Bronco lineup in eight days across Disney’s media networks, including ABC, ESPN, National Geographic and Hulu. Ford worked with Disney CreativeWorks, the company’s creative agency, to whip-up custom three-minute videos for each network to debut the vehicles.

“We’re really optimistic this will be a unique way to do it”, VanDyke said. Ford has changed the date of the Bronco unveiling at least three times. Two in-person reveals earlier this spring, including one for the Detroit auto show, were canceled due to Covid-19. An online July 8 debut also was postponed due to controversy about the event 'coincidentally' coinciding with a murdering scumbags birthday.

Update May 25, 2020

Ford is up and running to get its most eagerly awaited products to market, the FORD Bronco SUV and Sport

No automaker is immune to the Trump pandemic, the global novel coronavirus outbreak, the Donald invited into North America.

American automaker, FORD is getting CRUSHED by the significant challenges the Donalds disease poses to it's business throughout the continent.

The Donald's Disease

Donald's disease pandemic has CRUSHED the makers 2020-2021 business scheduling.

Postponements and re-scheduling of numerous model reveals and vehicle programs has CRUSHED Ford Motor Company.

Still reeling from hefty financial losses in the fourth quarter of last year and the first quarter of 2020, Ford desperately needs a win or two. Help may be on the way from a brand new version of Ford's brand, Bronco.

The all-new Ford Bronco SUV and tiny Bronco Sport. The only problem is, those vehicle programs have all been put on ice for a couple of months.

Baja Racing News LIVE! reports that the launch dates of both vehicles have been delayed by about the same amount of time that Ford's factories have sat idle in the United States.

Ford, along with crosstown rivals GM and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, pressed pause on US production operations toward the middle of March as the Donalds disease's continued it's spread and raised safety concerns among its workforce.

Detroit's Big Three automakers partially resumed production this past Monday, May 18 with new health safety policies in place, putting the total length of its shutdown at about two months. That should equate to roughly two months of delay for the aforementioned vehicles' launch dates.

"We're not going do any additional delay to these launches beyond the impact of the pandemic as a mechanism to conserve cash", Ford's Head of Product Development and Purchasing, Hau Thai-Tang, said at a Bank of America conference call on Friday.

We expect the Bronco launch delays to be commensurate with the duration of the shutdown period". Even with the delay, Ford said last week, "that it expects to make its first customer deliveries in 2021, although the timing of the SUV and Sports's late, overhyped, but official, unveilings are still being jiggered"

Just to Jerk with the fanbase. Fans of the Ford Bronco and victims burned down from the Ford Performance overhype machine, which had also been slated to start sales and deliveries late this year, will not occur.

Update May 17, 2020

It's official, the Ranger Raptor is DEAD for the USA!

The project has been officially killed off by the blue oval in Detroit since the cold new world after the pandemic will take years to recover.

Earlier this year, word got out that Ford Australia was working on the kind of truck that would have made most Americans froth at the mouth: A Ranger Raptor, with the 5.0-liter V8 heart from the Mustang. Emphasis on would, though, because the ultimate Ranger's production run has reportedly been canceled thanks to the economic downturn caused by the Donald's disease outbreak.

Ford Motor Company shelved the 460-horsepower, Mustang-hearted pickup truck to fit a new, tighter budget imposed so the company can thrive in an economy that isn't expected to recover for many years.

Ford’s tightening financial restrictions, both locally and overseas, has resulted in that final sign-off now being withheld indefinitely.

Ford reportedly tasked design of the V8 Ranger Raptor to Prodrive spinoff Premcar, which itself has the capacity to produce V8 Rangers in small numbers. Even assuming Ford hasn't strung red tape in Premcar's path, though, don't expect to see a V8 Ranger in your local Ford showroom; these gallivanting trucks would've been exclusive to Australia, as some of the best Fords have traditionally been.

As it was before, Jerked Ford fans, the task of putting a V8 into a Ranger lies with you. Just be sure you forego the 5.0-liter Coyote for one of those new 7.3s—ideally with a honking great supercharger bolted to it.

Update April 11, 2020

Ford's revival of the iconic Bronco nameplate will come later than expected as coronavirus-related delays impact Ford Bronco Sport production

The Bronco Sport was scheduled for production first, but BajaRacingNews.com reports that it's been delayed due to the impacts of the Trump pandemic.

The production launch, originally meant to start on July 13, has been pushed to September 7.

The Bronco Sport will be available this fall, while the "Bronco SUV" will arrive in 2021.

The 2021 Ford Bronco SUV is expected to enter production at the Ford Michigan assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan during the first half of the 2021 calendar year, likely making it a 2021 model year vehicle. The reborn off-roader will ride on the body-on-frame T6 platform loosely shared with the Ranger and international-market Ford Everest.

This year, Ford planned to bring an iconic name back to the car market after a 25-year hiatus with the introduction of the new Ford Bronco SUV. But that big revival will have to wait a little longer, as the Trump pandemic has pushed back production on the nameplate. Fans anticipating the return of the famed "Bronco SUV", last produced in 1996, will have at least two models to choose from — the regular SUV that's based on the Ford Ranger pickup truck and the smaller Bronco Sport, based on the Ford Escape platform and scheduled to go to production before its bigger sibling. Originally targeted for a July 13 production launch date, the Bronco Sport has now been delayed until September 7.

Ford declined to comment to BajaRacingNews.com, saying "it doesn't discuss future products". The Trump pandemic has stalled Ford's North American assembly and supplier parts factories, inevitably pushing back Bronco Sport and Bronco SUV production. Ford and the United Auto Workers union have also had tensions over production restarts amid the Trump pandemic, and multiple UAW-Ford employees have died of the disease.

The Bronco Sport, which uses the same front-wheel-drive platform found in the Escape, appears similar in size to the Jeep Renegade.  Ford apparently had plans to reveal it at this year's New York International Auto Show, which would have taken place in April. But the New York Auto Show was rescheduled for August, while its Jacob Javits Convention Center venue was transformed into a makeshift disaster hospital for the Trump pandemic patients.

The Bronco Sport will start selling this fall before the larger Bronco SUV, which will supposedly debut in early 2021. A Ford spokesperson responded by saying: "The all-new Bronco SUV will have its world premiere later this year". Ford refused to elaborate saying, "we will talk more about the all-new rugged Ford Bronco SUV at a later date".

Recently Ford CEO Jim Hackett spent some time talking about how the automaker will get CRUSHED by the Trump disease and the effects it’s had on automotive sales and Ford profits in particular. The company has been hard-hit with the automaker reporting the possibility of a $600 million loss for Q1 2020. As Ford tries to revamp the company and improve sales, which were declining before the Trump disease outbreak, Hackett is talking about the future and what kind of changes might take place.

Yes, like shit-canning FORD Performance!

Update March 8, 2020

2021 Ford Bronco Sport:

The little sport, per the badge on the rear of the vehicle, which looks very square and upright:

The "Bronco Sport" seems comparatively tame, but like the Jeep Renegade-Jeep Wrangler relationship, this little "sport 4x4" Ford shares some styling elements with its more rough-and-tumble sibling, the Bronco SUV. Both vehicles feature a bucking bronco horse in their wheel center caps, Bronco headlights and others. Leaked Ford images of the Ford Bronco Sport, are boxy. It's Ford's answer to the Jeep fail renegade.

The Bronco Sport will ride on the Ford C2 platform shared with the 2020 Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair, but will not resemble either of its platform mates.

Production of this "Baby Bronco" has already started at the Ford Hermosillo plant in Mexico. Just one more reason to ignore this model!

Update Feb. 28, 2020

The Ford Castrol pickup in the photo below can’t be purchased. Although it resembles the Ranger Raptor, it's been tested last year at Red Bull Romaniacs, the carbon-clad truck is actually purpose-built for racing with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 instead of the 2.0-liter EcoBlue bi-turbo diesel.

Which it has been reported, the V6 Twin Turbo in the New Bronco, will be unveiled HERE on Baja Racing News LIVE! NEXT WEEK!

The New Bronco will be equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 from the F-150 and 'F-150 Raptor'.

Maybe that's why the goofballs at USA Ford Performance were calling the Bronco Racer, at the 2019 Baja 1000 FAIL, the 'raptor'.

The 2021 Ford Bronco is fast approaching and set to be unveiled next week. The automaker is keen to ensure customers have a plethora of accessories available as soon as the rugged off-roader [BWWAAAA! Better get that racer realigned!!!!] lands in dealerships.

[And get rid of that team of dolts FORD has at USA Ford Performance, that Baja 1000 2019 performance was a Colossal JOKE]

According to Auto News, Ford will initially offer in excess of 150 accessories for the 2021 Bronco, all of which can be warrantied and financed through Ford Motor Credit Co. The car manufacturer has reportedly replaced more than half of its regional accessories distributors in recent months while updating a website for dealers and is promising faster parts shipments when the Bronco arrives. According to member of the Ford council and owner of San Tan Ford in Gilbert, Arizona, Tim Hovik, Ford doesn’t want to repeat the errors it made with the Ranger by initially having little inventory of accessories for the pickup and slow parts shipments. “At launch, we may not have had as many accessories as we would have wanted, but as Ranger has evolved, the accessories have caught up,” Hovik said. “We feel like we’ve taken a step forward to modernize our distribution system to give the dealers more options and faster order fills so we’re more efficient with our customers and can deliver a better experience for them.

As the Bronco Unveil on Baja Racing News LIVE! approaches, a revamped Ford Accessory Distributor network with seven regional providers has been established to enable quick-turn orders and to prevent dealers from needing to amass large inventories of parts. John Crane, chairman of the Ford National Dealer Council and owner of Golf Mill Ford in Niles, Illinois said accessories are very important to Ford customers.“We know how important it is to sell accessories to people. They spend thousands of dollars on their vehicle. We want to be ready from the get-go.” Ford expects to sell up to 200,000 Bronco and Bronco Sport (aka the ‘Baby Bronco’) models in the first year of production.

For 2020, Ford Castrol has swapped the eight-cylinder engine for the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 of the F-150 and F-150 Raptor. Another change is the rear suspension, now IRS as opposed to a solid axle. Capable of traveling up to 11 inches, the independent suspension system is joined by six-piston Brembo calipers up front and water-cooled brakes at the rear. No fewer than three Ranger Raptor EcoBoost race trucks will be manufactured and fielded by mid-2020, and all three will compete in the top class of the South African Cross Country Series. “The introduction of turbocharged gasoline engines by the FIA represents an exciting new era for the sport, and for the Ford Castrol Team and Neil Woolridge Motorsport to be at the forefront of this development is a great accolade,” said team principal Neil Woolridge. As a side note, NWM runs the Ford Castrol Team. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6-engined Ranger Raptor isn't expected to finish on the podium right away. 2020 is a development and fine-tuning year for Ford Castrol and NWM, but on the upside, the target for 2021 is the FIA-class title.Turning our attention back to the pickup, differences over the road-going model further include the 480-liter fuel cell from Aerotec Laboratories and the SADEV transmission. Lighter differentials, a specialized steering rack for off-road racing, and BF Goodrich KDR2+ are also worthy of note. “An entirely new chassis design” complements the BOS dampers on all four corners, and even the cockpit is larger than the V8-engined race trucks from previous years. Once NWM finishes developing the newcomer, the V6-engined model will be available for privateer teams as well. The 2020 SACCS calendar kicks off on February 28th with the Mpumalanga 400, and the final round is Parys 400 on October 23rd and 24th.

A special Ford Ranger rally-raid truck set to compete in the South African Cross Country Series has just been unveiled for the 2020 season. The Ford Castrol Cross Country Team in South Africa has competed in the championship with the popular Ranger for a number of years and claimed Class T victories in both 2018 and 2019. Ford works with Neil Woolridge Motorsport to campaign the off-roaders and for this year, a series of upgrades have been made. Also Read: Ford Ranger Raptor Finally Getting A V8 – But There’s A Catch! The biggest change comes on the engine front. Whereas the current Ford Ranger raced in South Africa uses the 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 derived from the Ford Mustang, this latest racer features Ford’s 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine that’s used in differing forms by the F-150 Raptor and GT supercar. In launching this new racer, Ford and Neil Woolridge Motorsport will be the first team in the world to enter cross country racing of this type with a turbocharged petrol engine. This new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 will be located further back in the Ranger’s chassis in a mid-mounted position to optimize the weight distribution. It also features a purpose-built fuel cell capable of carrying up to 480 liters (126 gallons) of fuel for long cross-country events. Coupled to the engine is a Sadev SC924 Evo gearbox. To ensure the Ranger can deal with the most punishing terrain, it features a wider chassis design and high-performance BOS dampers at all four corners. There are also six-piston Brembo brake calipers found up front and water-cooled six-pit calipers at the rear.Ford will kick off this year’s South Africa Cross Country Series racing the outgoing V8 models and transition to the 3.5-liter EcoBoost boost model when development is complete.
