For the new generations of Baja Californians who were unaware that in the port of San Felipe, a war movie was filmed, where the tanks and commandos were circulating through the streets of San Felipe and as the protagonist a leading international film actor. 

The movie "Raid of Rommel", filmed in San Felipe, Baja California. In the photograph above, appears the actor Richard Burton with his head covered with a newspaper and with a 'Carta Blanca' beer on one side; he he he made her in the movie as Captain Alex Foster. The local company that supported the making of this film was Baja Fun Films, this was a Baja California company that promoted movies and television programs to be made in Baja California at low cost and with a technical equipment acquired in the United States, where one of the partners was Lic. Milton Castellanos Gout (former Municipal President of Mexicali) and narrates the following: "We started providing food and transportation services with a small truck-cafeteria for the "Raid of Rommel" locations in San Felipe in 1971.

Manvel Barra says the following: "I had to live in San Felipe from 1967 to 1972 ..... so it was that time ... tanks and motorcycles passed through the main street to the El Cortez hotel, where they the actors were hosting ... It was known as "Rommel, the Desert Fox".

Synopsis: It deals with the movie about World War II. In 1942, a British command was entrusted with the mission of attacking Tobruk, the nerve center of North Africa, which was occupied by General Rommel's German troops.
