NORRA Mike Pearlman Refused Permit! GRINGOS BLOCKED! CABO CLOSED 2021

 Baja Racing News LIVE!

 March 10, 2021

NORRA BULLETIN- For the second year in a row, NORRA is blocked from going to Cabo.

"Government mandates have closed Baja South to the NORRA events. The forced closure is a letdown. NORRA's COVID Regulations make it very unHappy this year, but, with the CABO 1000 Pre-Run 2021, the Happy part is BACK!

This year, we have laid out a course that travels all over the North. The course still travels all the way south of Bay Of LA for the cars, and the bikes will stay overnight in Guerrero Negro. Bikes will have their own routes, just like always. The starting line will be in Santo Tomas, and after 5 days of racing will end at  Ensenada. Total mileage is 1,141 miles with 11 special stages. 893 miles are on dirt, and 248 on paved roads during transit.

CABO 1000 Pre-Run Route 2021

Ensenada Contingency

25 April - Start ~ Santo Tomás ~ San Felipe

26 April - San Felipe ~ Guerrero Negro (motos)

26 April - San Felipe ~ Bahía de Los Ángeles (cars)

27 April - Guerrero Negro ~ Bahía de Los Ángeles (motos)

27 April - Bahía de Los Ángeles ~ Bahía de Los Ángeles (cars)

28 April - Bahía de Los Ángeles ~ San Felipe

29 April - San Felipe ~ CABO 1000 Ranch (Pre-Run Finish)

With the brand new highway going from San Felipe to Bay of LA, many teams are being told to bed down on the highway, we'll have better places to stay!

Now, The CABO 1000 Pre-Run Details!

FUEL: Both Pemex owners in Bay of LA (BOLA) and they will be ready for us.

Guerro Negro (GN): The way we have laid out the course in and out of GN allows us to stay there overnight, we will not have any race stages in Baja South.

MOTOS: For Tuesday 27th in BOLA is a real challenge for us but we understand it is not your fault we changed the schedule, we will rearrange our staff rooms and we will camp that night in order to release rooms for bikes. Give us a few days to go over the final bikes entry list and see how many of you guys will man up to take the challenge, once we have that number we will see where you guys will stay but count on us for that night.

NORRA BOUND BY COVID MANDATES!

All team members that have a crew wristband will be allowed into the ranch, the very first thing to do is go thru the COVID FILTER before entering the ranch, once cleared they will be banded and ready to go in, crew wristbands allow them to have food and drinks during registration and tech. We will have a crew wristband report by team at that filter, the process will be relatively easy, in example: If your team paid for 1 driver of record, 4 co-drivers, and 5 crew members we will have that on the list, if only a part of the team shows up we will make a note on how many wristbands are pending delivery and once they show up will give them.

If you decide to wait and pay for the crew wristbands at registration instead of purchasing them online, one of your banded team members will have to pay for them at registration inside of the ranch and then come back to the main entrance to allow the crews to go in after Covid Filter, we strongly recommend to buy them online. Your Crew wristband covers for On-Site COVID Testing in case you need it as well as for Food and Drinks at every finish line during the Rally. NORRA's COVID Protocols and Mitigation Plan does not allow untested people inside of the isolated facilities, it is for our own safety and your teams as well, no public or untested people will be allowed into any of the close down the racing plans.

NORRA COVID REQUIREMENTS: During Tech and Registration days Apr 23rd and 24th we will have a 3 lane access point prior to the ranch, Lane 1 will be for people that have Vaccination Cards with both applications and also for people that have a Negative test done at home prior to leaving the USA not older than 72 hours if you have been vaccinated you don´t need a negative COVID test just show your card and ID, Lane 2 will be for people that needs to be tested on-site if they previously paid for their crew, co-driver or driver wristband the cost for testing is included with the wristband and we will have a full list with names; if you did not register previously someone will have to pay your wristband at registration inside of the ranch and comeback for you, Lane 3 will be for returning traffic that already has their COVID wristband and wishes to re-enter the ranch. If the on-site test comes out positive you will not be allowed to register or enter the ranch and will be receiving all medical information about COVID 19 and appointed to a Fever Clinic for a follow-up and then isolate, anyone testing positive will not be allowed at any of the the racing plans "isolated premises".

Remember that pit services will be available and racing assistance to anyone who needs it.

Onto Cabo!

Mr. Pearlmans team will travel to La Paz as separate groups after the official events conclude.

The CABO 1000 Pre-Run Continues onto CABO!

Please see the Official Provider here for accomodations in Southern Baja California, for the conclusion of the rally."
