SCORE September Race CLOSED To The Public - Gringos Under Quarantined Orders

UPDATED! Friday, August 20, 2021

SCORE International is now FORCED under isolation from the general public of Baja California Mexico for health and safety reasons.

The Ensenada Civil Protection Directorate is moving to keep the gringos permanently separated from the public, for obvious health and safety reasons.

Too many videos and pictures are available online showing the American racers, ignoring public protocols.

After the recent race, the Baja 500, there have been public calls to the Ensenada Council to eject the gringos from Mexico.

The news about extended national travel restrictions didn't help.

"The U.S. is extending the nonessential closure of its borders with Mexico to at least Sept. 21 due to the delta variant of the coronavirus, the Department of Homeland Security announced Friday, August 20, 2021.

"In coordination with public health and medical experts, DHS continues working closely with its partners across the United States and internationally to determine how to safely and sustainably resume normal travel", the agency tweeted.  The extraordinary closures have been extended monthly since they were put in place at the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.

Mexicans can't travel into the U.S. unless it is for an essential purpose.

The United States (U.S.) administration has not said when it plans to loosen restrictions on international travel.   Some experts have said picking and choosing countries based off of the COVID-19 infections data is arbitrary, because the disease is already entrenched in the U.S.

Here is the announcement from the gringos, with changes in the format and text.
