After years of searching the libraries and garages of Southern Baja Mexico, the research arm of the BAJA Racing Hall Of FAME hit paydirt!
Finding the authentic "First Baja Racing Champion", was against all odds.
In Southern Baja California, in the front yard of a family home, the "Hawk", now has been found and documented and today celebrated for its pilots and place in racing history.
In the first ever 'Terrisurena of Southern Baja' in 1955, the first trans-peninsular desert off-road race event (today called the 'CABO 1000'), this Champion Chevy won the day.
Talking with hundreds of racing fanatics and racing industry insiders over fifteen years, researchers found the complete story, finally revealed.
The racing winner was found in the front yard of a humble residential dwelling in Southern Baja, in Mexico.
