The Answer:

*Well- to some in the racing community, like the UTV's, the answer is NO!

Miguel Gonzales tells   BajaRacingNews.com:

"They (BITD?) STILL HAVEN'T SUBTRACTED THE HOUR FROM UTV TIMES. VITO SHOULD BE 7 hours 10 minutes."

And a BajaRacingNews.com fan from Prescott Valley Arizona responded,

"Looks like the last car before the split was a 4400 at 11:27. Guthrie left at 12:31...Bradbury at 12:30. More than an hr and may be the 4 minute difference????? I'm confused. This stuff is getting complicated ..like the #6 overall qualifier starting like 2 1/2 hrs after #5...lol."

The 'Unofficial results from BITD V2R event have changed several times...

The Original Reporting from July 30-

AFTER NEARLY 15 YEARS OF "USING THEIR COMPUTERS AS DOOR STOPS", (STEVE MEYERS) HAS BITD GOT THEIR SHIT TOGETHER ? WE'LL FIND OUT!

Jason Davis, a Baja Sureno, who "likes to stir the pot", is leading our Editorial section of this race event.

He sez: "Step in the wrong direction. Removing the great thing about no prerunning racing or notes. I wish the SCORE races would go back to no prerunning. This would end 1000 mile finishes within seconds, cut the TT spec & UTV classes in half & overall winner could be any class. I love to race on skill & knowledge of the area versus who preran more the coming weeks and has the best notes. Combining with racers to race sections who have more knowledge of the area (LOCALS)"

Mark Naugle reply to Jason Davis: "no prerunning V2R has nothing to do with competition. It’s a BLM stipulation."

Jason Davis reply to Mark Naugle: "LMAO last time I looked or raced BITD didn't have prerunning of races."

Edited  Jason Davis reply to Mark Naugle: "I dont need to guess I know why. You obviously don't get my point. I don't care what race it is (as I pointed out using the 1000.) And pre-running has everything to do with competition, how fast people can finish a race versus no prerunning.…"

Mark Naugle reply to Jason Davis: "you also failed to grasp my point. Prerunning isn’t allowed in BITD races because of restrictions placed on the event in the BLM permit. I completely understand what prerunning has to do with competition."

Jason Davis reply to Mark Naugle: "Back to my statement & no need for your pointless interjection. Step in the wrong direction. Removing the great thing about no prerunning racing or racing notes. I wish the SCORE races would go back to no prerunning. This would end 1000 miles…"

Brian Busby reply to Jason Davis: "this has nothing to do with the competition, everything to do with safety. Having raced for decades in both BITD & SCORE, in the limited classes all the way up to podium Trophy Truck wins … It’s not different lines or giving you an advantage it’s just the course with detailed notes that you don’t get with the regular downloads. Rocks on right, severe cliff on left, slow over rise/big g out, etc So in my opinion (as well as a lot of other big teams) this is a huge step in the RIGHT direction because it will help navigators the ability to call out not only the dangers, but WHAT the dangers are. Note: If you think that the bigger names aren’t prerunning the course with their helicopters just before the race? You’re kidding yourself … they do, just can’t drive it."

Brian Busby reply to Jason Davis: "I could care less about what you race or your knowledge of prerunning, Notes for safety, not for an unfair advantage … it’s very obvious that you didn’t know what you were (or are) talking about…"

Eigua Zetroc reply to Mark Naugle: "I can’t believe you can get from Mex-Cabo in 13.5 hours."

Eigua Zetroc reply to Sean Soule: "18 may be possible but damn it’s a big risk most of the road is super narrow and dangerous. It takes me 4-5 hours in a Cessna 182 Skylane from Ensenada - Loreto !"

Eigua Zetroc reply to Mark Naugle: "yes sorry I meant to tag Jason"

Daryl DQ Quiring: "cut the TT spec & UTV classes in half ". Why? That's a ton of lost revenue, and idle racers. Who's gonna go for that?

Jason Davis reply to Daryl DQ Quiring: "having money to buy the trendy fade doesn't make you a good fast racer. It makes more traffic & dangerous guys who need to learn to race in lower classes first. Just because you built a Trophy Truck doesn't mean you belong out there."

Daryl DQ Quiring: "Understand, but that's been a part of racing for a long time. And no promoter is going to go for that."

Jason Davis reply to Daryl DQ Quiring "Im not a promotor. Im a racer who loves to stir the pot."
