The first competitor in the Nitto Tires race of races, fired off the line at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, February 11. The last one finished before 10 p.m. the same day.

The event course consisted of three laps of stupid, why the F are we doing this middle of nowhere, WTF desert racing only dead-ender hammeroids could love.

This year the race once again went to Raul Gomez of Gomez Brothers Racing. It was the second year in a row he has won. “After watching the UTV race yesterday I kind of changed my strategy a little bit. I was going to hold back the first lap and then really start attacking second and third, but I’m definitely gonna go full get-up first, second, and third lap so it’s gonna be a fast race for sure,” Gomez said the day before the green flag. It was a good thing he kept the hammer—so to speak—down from the start, as his margin of victory, once they corrected times, was less than a minute over second-place finisher Jason Scherer. (Scherer was reportedly down two cylinders toward the end of the race.) Gomez’s 5:25.47 for three huge laps of the desert race course barely bested Scherer’s 5:46:16 for the win, on adjusted time.

Of course, we're bound only by how much you can trust the timekeepers in these desert 'hills-have-eyes-fests.

Was it Scherer who crossed the line first, allowing Raul Gomez, not of Adams Family fame, who had started later, winning? Josh Blyler took third.

The race of races was the final spooge of the weeks-long 2023 king of the hammeroids LIVE ! ONLINE coverage of dave coles unlimited failure.

The hammeroids, overhyped as "the toughest and most prestigious event in the two-week-long carnage", doesn't match up with other desert events because of the gambling parlays and massive overdrinking this cole spew is known for.

The competitors in this event have to balance rock crawling over boulders as big as fridges with remaining stable on fast blasts across open desert, maintained by the US. Marine Corps, empty dry lake beds and silty whoop-dee-doos.

The race course over time has gotten way easier and the off-road engineering has greatly improved since daves scam start some years ago.

Seeing competitors crawl up boulder-strewn hell-slots like Chocolate Thunder, Turkey Claw, and Sledgehammer is a testament to both the design and drivers of these hillbilly rigs from the hell imagination of hammeroids themselves.

Just minutes before the rock-donkey start, the official "race starting order" was announced. One of the secrets of the dave cole con, daves placing of 'starting orders' very last minute.

Also Last Minute, so that the other donkey's don't have enough time to complain and fire off protests. Yup

That's how he does it ladies. Slight of hand, shell-game, gambling parlays, drunk, the dave cole - hammeroids rock donkey SCAM!!!

In 2007, as reported by Butt Pirate Erik Linker, Flip Flop (dave coles orginal call-sign) planned out on a napkin in a bar (a Chili's in San Bernadino to be exact) the start of the Destructo events witnessed today.

Considering the open view grab-azz organization today, 2023, dave hasn't progressed very far!

Dave Cole had a put-offish relationship with the badges out in Bartsow. He had paid off several federal officers to mind their government duties.

"Eat your donuts away from our off-road activities", Cole said. "Cash, that's how you deal with the government out in these parts".

Knoll was involved in desert racing and had experience in running organized off-road events. He wasn't a donkey. Together they made the first "hammers" get together.

The actual derivation of the event title. After nights getting drunk, get-it, hammered, hammers, drunk? They invited twelve guys to meet them out on federal land for some grab ass rock donkeying.

The group who showed up wasn't told anything about what the day had in store until they all arrived. The meeting was run in secret - no spectators, no vendors, just some guys having some 'donkeyfun'.
