BAJA DESERT CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 - Baja 1000 Pre-Running Underway!

-Meeting next week scheduled>>>

 ROUND ONE LAST MEETING 6-14-23

-3:53 pm meeting end.

-Drivers meeting requirements discussed. BITD 'leaning toward 'live' meetings online'.

-Misuse of 'medical button' addressed.

-BLM permit question. New rules and regulations noted by BITD. Permit for Vegas To Reno, 'in-hand' confirmed.

-"We need serious rules upgrades on 'hitting bikes'". To be addressed at next meeting.

-Fueling apron question. Deferred to next meeting.

-Qualifying question regarding 6100 class.

-On race day, is UTV class following time trial rules? Yes, same way as last year.

-Physical violence threats will be addressed by the BITD organization, by Bryan Folks.

-Fuel mats question deferred to BITD meeting for next week.

-Regarding pit accountability (Baja Pits), who is responsible for professional pit services? Registered team driver of record or Baja Pits?

Bryan Folks answered: "Baja Pits will be held responsible."

-BITD seeking 'push-to-pass' data. Penalty notices to drivers who neglect 'move-over' requests.

-Show courtesy to fellow racers and staff/voluteers of BITD.

-Sarcobatus Flat speed zone announced for Vegas To Reno event. No passing.

Sarcobatus Flat is a closed valley in western Nye County, Nevada between Goldfield and Beatty. The Bullfrog Hills form the southern boundary and the Grapevine Mountains along with Bonnie Claire Flat form the western boundary. Pahute Mesa bounds the area to the east and north. To the north the flat is contiguous with Lida Valley and Stonewall Flat.

-Speed limit outside the course is 15 mph. 

No variances will be tolerated.

-Posted STOP's are mandatory.

-Speed limit zones, if posted, absolutely NO PASSING.

-BITD under "Race Information", on official website, bitd.com

-Only cars and trucks can use 'fueling systems'.

Two twenty pound fire ext.s, per vehicle. 50 foot rule off the race course.

-Fuelers must have proper gear. Suits and Hood socks, during fueling. All personnel working on the racecar, during fueling, must wear fire suits and hood socks.

-All vehicles must be on full mats.

-Ten pounds of manned, fire ext.'s

-Pitting rules for moto's, atv's and quads. Full mats are required. Full cans must be on full mats. All full systems must be on full mats.

-No outside assistance.

-Pitting rules will be enforced. No drunken flip-flops.

-Drunk behavior by all teams, will not be tolerated.

-Staff and volunteers will now be protected from arguments by team members.  

-Paved Road Crossing rules will be followed to a 'T'. 

-Bryan Folks announces he will be the 'acting' racing director at all future BITD events. 

-2:59 pm meeting begins.
