The Ports of Entry with the US., Mexico's lifeline to all things, are under an EMERGENCY.
Baja racers must be prepared for any eventuality.
The news reporting, "On Monday, September 18, 2023 at approximately 0945 hours Pacific Standard Time (PST), Agencia Nacional de Aduanas de Mexico (ANAM) has notified US. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) of a national system issue.
ANAM has reported that all Mexican systems are down nationwide.
Currently, ANAM has not been able to provide an estimated
time for system restoration. Both the Port of Otay Mesa and Tecate
Commercial Operations will jointly monitor wait times in the event the
issue is not resolved timely. Local law enforcement has been notified;
California Highway Patrol, San Diego Police Department, US Border Patrol
will be monitoring traffic as Mexican systems remain unavailable for
both importations / exportations operations."
"Passenger Vehicles Halted for over an Hour Today Arrival", as processing systems were down this morning, halting entries into the US at all land ports of entry in California, causing major delays for cross-border employees (so yes, believe them). Processing systems are now up, but working slower than usual.
