This year’s race claims to be of the most epic off-road spectacles yet, with a 360° experience of Baja's rugged beauty and brutal challenges. 

Get ready to dive into the action with start-to-finish LIVE coverage on both race days (Saturday Oct 12 & 13), beginning at 7:50 AM PT and running until 6 PM. This isn't just a race—it’s a XBAJA TV celebration, complete with live views from the course, up-close interviews with drivers at the finish line, and a ringside seat to see who will rise.

Saturday’s race starts in Santo Tomas, taking on three intense Special Stages (SS), with drivers battling through Baja’s rugged terrains to reach the finish at the Old Mill in San Quintin. Sunday kicks off from the Hotel Mision Santa Maria in San Quintin, loops through stunning yet technical stretches, and ends back in Santo Tomas, with the grand finale showdown set for SS03. 

The ultimate victor will be crowned with not one but two prizes: a norra trophy for the overall champion and the KING OF THE BEACH, winner symbolizing the racer with unparalleled prowess in the final stage."

The Class 11 has a special place in the hearts of all Baja racing fanatics!

The VW Beetle at the El Rey De Las Bajas KING OF THE BEACH October 11th through the 13th will be the new Class 11 Battle for The Ages. 

The North Americans have created two new classes; one for limited, Vintage class 11 bugs (KING rules) and a separate class for modified, Evolution Class 11 bugs (El Rey Rules). Both will be racing for a $4000 winner takes all cash prize in their class, but also for the KING OF THE BEACH Trophy that will be awarded to the fastest overall Class 11 from either Vintage or Evolution on the final stage of day two.

This 51 mile stage down the beach will be epic. It includes the Robby's Boulder Beach and the Bob's Hill Climb. This new El Rey De Las Bajas '24, includes the Baja Racing Pioneers; 1967 thru 1975, Legends; 1976 thru 1982, Challenger; 1983 thru 1992 and Vintage; 1993 thru 1997, and/or 20+ years old. 

For this new Class 11 Baja Battle for KING OF THE BEACH, the North Americans will be offering a special entry fee for driver and co-driver including STELLA and SPICA fees. 

The KING OF THE BEACH Class 11 race is just part of the fun at the Ensenada, B.C. based events. There will be lots of VW’s at Mack Johnson´s Vintage Classic Car Round-Up at Friday tech inspection from 12pm-1pm at the Riviera Convention Center (side street, Club Rotario Ave). 

There you can also attend the meet and greet with our Grand Marshal Ramón Castro, known as "El Tomatón." Reportedly, he is the fastest Class 11 driver on record. He did a solo drive from Ensenada to La Paz in 1989 at a record time of 27 hours and 46 minutes.
