There has been a string of these attacks in the area lately. Proceed with great caution."

Baja Racing News has confirmed, through law enforcement sources in the state capital, these events are escalating!

Valle de Trinidad is centrally located in Baja Norte. The cartels control this area, because of the geographic choke-point it presents to law enforcement and Mexican Army forces.

FROM THE BAJA 1000 2024:

GUNFIRE! GUNFIRE! GUNFIRE!

The picture above is from one of the teams, shot at, during the actual race event.

Maybe kevlar flak jackets are in order!

Several racing teams were shot, during the 2024 SCORE racing event, the Baja 1000.

Your travel decisions and "what ifs" can be better evaluated once your  actual risks are fully known.

However, SCORE International does not want you to know, the real threats, facts.

There were at least three separate incidents on 10/6/24 in central northern Baja, with 6 people dead.

The dead are both the bad guys and innocent victims.

The injured include numerous women and a teenager. This area has been violent for a while - the perpetrators aren't going away.

Traffic on Mexican Highway 3

Numerous Mexican Army checkpoints are in the area, but are they effective in reducing crime? Eliminate the risk.

"4 men shot dead in Trinidad Valley- October 6, 2024 Around 12:00 hours, this Sunday it was reported through C4 that, elements of the National Guard located a pickup type vehicle, at kilometer 108 of the Ensenada-San Felipe road, a few meters from the terrace in the delegation of the Valley of Trinidad. Inside the vehicle were found four male people, with gunshot wounds, who were not responding to the call. As a result, notice was given to the State Prosecutor General's Office to those who have the responsibility to carry out the relevant investigation. There are 6 people dead after the shootings registered in the Trinidad Valley and there are more than 10 people injured more information developing."

From local police reports, October 6, 2024, At least three dead and one injured is the result of another armed confrontation, this time in the area of Laguna de Hanson, in the Sierra de Juarez, between criminals and Army personnel.

Unofficial data obtained by Patrulla 646 indicate that around noon a group of suspected criminals possibly involved in a series of armed confrontations in the Trinidad Valley encountered Army personnel.

In the process there was a confrontation with military personnel and three of the criminals were shot down, one was injured.

Sunday October 6, a series of shootings in the Trinidad Valley, criminals were looking to cross the gaps heading to the Rumorosa by roads from the Juarez Sierra. On the way, they ran into Mexican Army units.

"Since the confrontations began, restrictions and checkpoints were placed in various gaps and roads in La Calentura, Sierra de Juarez and heading to San Felipe."

"Shooting leaves one dead and 8 injured in the Trinidad Valley"

The Municipal Public Safety Directorate reports that, through the C4 emergency system, a report of firearm detonations was received in the village of Valle de la Trinidad. After verifying the information with the personnel assigned to the area, the veracity of the call was confirmed.

In response, a coordinated operation was implemented with the State Prosecutor General's Office, the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the State Force and other security authorities, moving to the scene. Upon arriving at kilometer 118 of the Ensenada-San Felipe highway, two Tahoe-type vehicles were located, one in black color and one in gold, both with firearm shocks. Later on the Ensenada-San Felipe highway, at km 119, a male person was seen, who did not respond to the call, so the support of paramedics was requested who determined that he lacked vital signs, so he coordinated the area. Subsequently to the delegation of the Valley of Trinidad, a minor of 17 years old arrived, injured by skirting from, apparently, gunfire, which was transferred by his own means.

Also, support was provided to emergency units to transfer three injured male people, presumed by gunshot strikes, to a hospital in Ensenada for medical care. In addition, three other female people were admitted to the hospital are recorded, who were also treated for possible injuries related to the incident. It can be reported that at the last moment he arrived at the Trinidad Valley delegation, a male injured by allegedly shooting a firearm, himself being evaluated by paramedics.

"The Municipal Public Safety Directorate, in coordination with other authorities, maintains presence in the area to ensure safety."

In 2025, an invasion of Mexico has far greater risks than ever before.

In the entire history of the two countries, the Mexicans have never seen the obscene wealth and ignorant attitudes of the ugly Americans, so clearly as they do today, on the www!

THE PUBLIC DAMAGES

UPDATED FEBRUARY 2025

MORE PUBLIC DAMAGES AND COMMENTS LOADING>>>

  • Seems like there is enough blame to go around. Yes, ultimately, it is the driver that must keep control of their vehicle. But allowing spectators to be between moving vehicles (rolling inspection) is foolish and asking for trouble.

I am a volunteer at the local Christmas parade. A lot of work goes into ensuring safety. That includes working to keep anyone watching the parade from crossing the street between entrants.

    • Tech at the Baja 1k isn't actually a parade. It's the world's slowest moving line of cars waiting to go through a single inspector to verify things like horn operation, seat belt dates and helmet certs. Most of entrants don't even run their engines, they either push the truck, or tow it with a golfcart because idling a truck for a few hours in tech is stupid. We always bribed the tech inspector to come to our hotel afterward and tech our truck there because sitting in that line for hours on end sucks, well worth the $1000.

This seems like the result of a very stupid person doing a very stupid thing, the Baja equivalent of a Mustang leaving Cars and Coffee. Not that Baja isn't insanely dangerous, just that this exact situation wasn't maybe as dangerous as it sounds until a dumbass got behind the wheel.

    • You can implement, refine, train, hold accountable - everyone to the best procedures, policies and processes - but you can never fix stupid. Unfortunately, it is part of the human element and repeatedly takes just one idiot to remind of us that. More unfortunately, it is the idiots that survive and the innocent that pay the price.

BTW... I knew Jim and his family. May he rest in peace. Thank you Jim for all you brought to our community.

      • Why in the world would you even have your truck on for this? Just use a cart or even push it. Having your truck for this part of inspection is just a waste of run time on your engine.

        • Bad processes and procedures lead to bad outcomes. Always.

          • The driver appears to be an American and his driving just shows this is how the US Drivers behave in America. Just gotta be a showoff.

            • It's Trump's fault

              • Shut the whole stupid event down. Serves no purpose except giving jerks a platform.

                • stupid is as stupid does
