ENSENADA, BAJA NORTE, POLICE DEPARTMENT PURGE WILL CONTINUE
UPDATED! Thursday, April 3, 2025
MEXICALI, Baja Norte.-
For the Director of the Ensenada Police, Alejandro Monreal Noriega, the arrest of alleged criminal elements of that force by the FGE (Federal Executive Branch) for alleged involvement in forced disappearances is a positive development, as these actions help eliminate the "cancer" of corruption that is taking root in police forces.
He said that the arrests of municipal officers began in August 2024, and to date, around 10 officers have been removed from custody for investigation.
Their innocence or indictment will be determined in the coming days.
The former director of the Mexicali Police believes that the Ensenada police force has good personnel and good practices that could be implemented throughout the state, as is the case with the tourist police.
