"Another night of prerunning in the books. Went from Ojos to San Felipe today/tonight. Long day! Our 3rd time over this section, 2nd at night. We are preparing to win. We have all our lines in every wash dialed. Lots of rain came down making the course very wet, and almost dust free. Great news for us not starting in the top 5. Friday can't come soon enough!"

Pete Sohren:
"todays report from ojos to rm100,,,conditions PERFECT for racing, wet ground, puddles smaller then a week ago...the two cattle guards around mile 60 on the wide open road are now BLOCKED and you have to go right and through an opening in the fence(???)..its a thrill if your going fast over the rise before the first one....there will be very little dust in the first 95 miles and you may have to BLAST whatever puddles are left.....the RACING will be INTENSE for the first 95 miles for the guys that KNOW they need to get up front before the back side of the summit.....prerunning start to ojos in the am if its marked..."
"pre run report from the start to ojos: the wash is still totally muddy so we started about rm5, track is the same up to rm 20 where there was a nasty mud hole (where we got stuck) but when we went thru there the second time there was a backhoe on the case and fixing the possible issue during the race....after the arches and the hard left, about a mile down there is a NEW section of "single" track that is very narrow and twisty for about 10 miles and onto the main ojos road in the same spot...the puddles on ojos road are too big and deep to blast so most will be going around them.....they seem to be trying to add dirt to the wash in town so we won't have to reroute through town, we will see if it works tomorrow....VIVA BAJA!"

The ground conditions west of the mountain crest are soaked and overflowing arroyo/creeks.
East of the mountain crests, the decomposed granite and sand race course in the deserts are still wet and mostly dust free, for now.
Now the BAJA 1000 race smack begins...Scott McMillin is saying his team will OA "overall" this race. He said, "Sitting here at 10:15 PM and thinking about the Friday night BAJA 1000...looking forward to OA the Baja 1000 next week".
Heavy rain slammed Baja Mexico overnight Friday and Saturday. Even the desert area of San Felipe had enough rain rain to last the year!
The teams that missed last weekends pre-runs will run into some rain this weekend. Rainfall is expected on the race course from Saturday and Sunday, November 13.
Rain has hit the course over the past two weekends. Many teams cut short their course pre-running plans last weekend, only to get rained on this weekend. Many course sections missed for the past two weekends will make team knowledge of the course skinny, with contingency in downtown Ensenada on Thursday and the race starting on Friday, November 18.
The San Felipe, Laguna Salada desert race course sections, are receiving moderate showers this weekend.
The crossover road from Valle Trinidad to Llano Colorado has been graded as has the course from near RTE 3 at Race Mile 70-77 and Race Mile 94.
The new section before Race Mile 77 is tight and technical and the summit section received enough rain to hard pack the loose soil. The first major silt hill has also firmed up.
