The Amazing History of EL REY de las BAJAS at San Felipe Mexico!

Adventure in Baja California started long before modern desert off-road racing. From Natives, to the greedy and genocidal Spanish, the northern part of 'Lower' California, was the Adventure goal throughout many centuries.

And the focus of lost and found 'Riches'.

By the turn of the century, most was known about the desert vastness. Scientists, Freebooters and Pirates had sacked most of the riches. The only thing that was left, was the Desert.

Motorized horses, cars and trucks, expanded the reachable locations of the majestic peninsula and the driving developed into sports and sciences. West of the imagination became open to any who would dare see beyond the barriers of time and trouble.

By the 40's and 50's world wars were a thing of the past(?), visitors and locals got together to form lasting human relationships to foster commerce and simple fun. Picnics among the new adventurers developed into technology sharing and wealth building, supporting growing outdoor loving families.

By the 60's, tourism became a prime mover in the Baja California economy. As safety and security expanded in Mexico, sports associations formed to promote travel and sport in Baja Mexico for international visitors.

Unique Mexican product brands were discovered by the visiting adventurers and disseminated around the globe. If the special culture of the local foods and drinks weren't known before this travel and tourism, adventure globalism exploded the knowledge to far-away lands and peoples.
