South American Juan Zunino had 'an accident' while riding his motorcycle at race mile 131 (approx.) where he unfortunately passed away.

Juan Zunino, was filled with glory last April, becoming the first Argentine to win an official Score International class event, the San Felipe 250 in the Pro Moto Ironman Class.

Juan, was also an Enduro athlete in his native Argentina, was 28 years old and had been participating in desert racing events for less than a year. Reportedly, Juan competed in both  Score International and Best In The Desert events.

Almost four years ago, he lost his younger brother Gianfranco, to whom he dedicated all his races with the phrase "4 Jimmy", something he was able to remember at the finish line of the San Felipe 250 alongside his father, who traveled to Mexico to be part of a unique adventure.

Juan was listed with the event as, "793x Juan Zunino" in the "Pro Moto Ironman Class". He paid his fees, so he's an official race event fatality, by Roger Normans standards.

Bricoop:

"We can be, and the media continues to be, hyperbolic about issues. Mexico is dangerous, we know that. If you do dumb things in dangerous areas you’re asking for trouble.  Occasionally, totally innocent people are involved. But that’s not the norm."

"That is all one really needs to know.  Over 2000 people a yr murdered in 'Tijuana alone'. And a cute sidenote includes over 200 women were either shot or gutted."
