Why? Because SCORE refuses to admit they have a problem. They can't even admit to the incident because they refuse to admit the issue, of safety problems. The whole reason the events run by Roger Norman in Mexico are DEATH RACES!

Via Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico
By: Gary Newsome, Publisher
The weather for this years Baja 1000 couldn't have been better. High pressure kept skies clear, blue and warm. The helicopters in downtown Ensenada were so numerous, it appeared as though they were a cloud of mosquitos.
The frenzied morning of the race ramped into chaos, once the green flag dropped for the monsters of the midway, the trophy trucks.
The class 1 race cars started off the line. When the unlimited desert buggies were driving off the line, another glaring example of Roger Normans negligence was displayed.
Now, lets get this right, OK? This is Rogers sick circus. The Death Races!
Here's how the people who are responsible for this shit show put it, BFGoodrich Tires Report: "One of the "Umbrella girls", was between the wheels of the 150 getting her picture taken, stepped out from there, the camera guy wanted a few more shots so he stopped her. about that time the green rag was dropped, the 150 hit the skinny pedal and the rear spit her out like a rag doll. The Monster Girl was bleeding out her ears when they got to her. As of Saturday, about noon she was still in ICU."
She was run over by BFGoodrich Tires.

Friends sent out this Instagram:
There are no guidelines to those who operate in the start/finish area of these race events. Often, people with NO CREDENTIALS are wandering through, what should be, a highly regulated patch of Baja Mexico.
The start finish line of the Baja races, in front of the old historic casino, should be secure, right?
This is now, a volatile work place environment/industrial incident/accident. Not a sporting incident. The MONSTER Girl is an employee and the area where it occurred, under normal conditions, would NOT be open to the public.
Only customers of Roger Norman, the racers. SCORE employees or in this case, an employee of a major sponsor, MONSTER Energy are to be allowed in the area?
There is no guidance provided by the race sanction, SCORE-International, owned by one Roger Norman, that directs the conduct of the start/finish line of his events, in Mexico. That's how a Monster Energy employee was run over by a Class 1 racer, during the starting process of this years Baja 1000.
As soon as someone realized she was down and unconscious, they started directing racers to the left, past the victim. On the ground, face first and out.
They didn't even stop the traffic, at first.
Then someone realized the gravity of the matter, maybe even figured out they would have to bring in medical personnel and equipment, to save the young womans life. Then they stopped the flow of starting Class 1 race cars.
If it were not for the absolutely desperate state and local governments, these events would be outlawed. They are outlawed around the world. Cash, cash is paid to ignore the illegal and deadly race activities.
We've already proven these race events actually cost more money, than are actually brought in by visitors. The state and local governments operate these events in fiscal deficits.
Why allow them? Because the local and state officials get paid off.
The new Mexican President has already called out the leader of the state as beyond corrupt.
And the people of Baja California are decent, sport loving, humble and beyond forgiving.
No Safety Responsibility, No Sanction Oversight
It must be stated at this point, there are no race marshals in this Death Race. There are no safety officials at any of these mierda circuses!
You can't make this shit up, its a Roger Norman SCORE event. Contingency was the previous day, thats the biggest CF in motorsport. This is the Baja 1000, its a SlaughterHouse. Blood, gore and young lives, lost.
How many maimed and dead are we up to at this point?

| Magda Angel Maimed at Start Line Baja 1000 |
Medical reports say the victim's head was run over by the racer tire. The same report says she is in an induced coma. Her face and eye was very badly injured.
At the start line of the 2018 Baja 1000, a Monster promotional representative, "Monster Girl", was 'run over' by a competitive racer during the class 1 vehicle departures. Early reporting indicated the victim was a 34-Year-old woman.
The event sanctioner, SCORE-International, reported the victim is in stable condition at this time and is being moved to a hospital in the United States after being discharged from Velmar hospital, in Ensenada, Baja Mexico.
The sanction rep reported, several injuries to the victim, including the face after her foot was caught by a tire of the racer, causing the victim to strike her head and face with the asphalt and be 'knocked-out', unconscious.
The driver/racer didn't even notice, he had struck and ran over the Monster girl. She was evaluated and stabilized by doctors in Mexico and medically evacuated to the United States.

First off the line in the four wheel competition, on Friday (RaceDay) morning:
"Ricky Johnson has earned the first starting position for Larry Connor’s Team C Racing in the featured Trophy Truck division for Friday's annual Baja 1000.
This years Baja 1000 Qualifying, was held on a purpose built, 0.6-mile course that started and finished on the off-road track at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The iconic race itself will start and finish in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. 2018 SCORE Baja 1000 race-week festivities and race, have begun. On October 30th, in front of a capacity crowd at the LVMS Off-Road Track, Johnson, who won 38 Supercross races and seven AMA season championships in his Hall of Fame motorcycle career, blistered the dirt and asphalt covering two laps in 1m51.92s with an average speed of 38.57 mph in Connor’s Team C Racing Chevy Silverado. He ran laps of 58.69 seconds and 43.23 seconds. His second lap was the fastest of the night.
Johnson was quickest among the 30 trucks out of the 37 entered in the race that elected to participate in the optional qualifying event. The 5,000-pound race trucks are designed for the pounding of open desert racing resulting in average speeds in qualifying 15-20 miles per hour less than they will average during the actual race. Johnson, finished 1.14 seconds faster than the runner-up qualifier as all of the top 14 qualifiers finished the course in less than two minutes.
A total of 30 of the 37 SCORE Trophy Trucks entered in the race including three SCORE TT Legend race trucks participated in the optional qualifying for starting positions within their respective classes, which are combined for starting positions but scored separately at the conclusion of the race.
SCORE has announced there will no longer be qualifying in Las Vegas for any future Baja 1000 events.
The Trophy Truck Class started in 1994, is the marquee desert racing division for high-tech, 950 horsepower unlimited custom trucks and TT Legend, which debuted in 2017, is the SCORE Trophy Truck class-within-a-class with drivers at least 50 years old.
THE TOP 5 QUALIFIERS: Behind Johnson, second in qualifying was Luke McMillin with a time of 1:53.05 in the No. 83 Mark Racing Ford F-150, and third was last year’s top qualifier Robby Gordon, with a time of 1:53.52 in the No. 77 Team Gordon Chevy Silverado. Completing the top-five qualifier list was Cole Potts, fourth in a time of 1:53.84 in the No. 60 Chevy Silverado, and fifth was Las Vegas’ Bryce Menzies with a time of 1:53.97 in his new No. 7 Menzies Motorsports Ford Raptor."

SOME MORE RACER NOTES
Aussie Toby Price will highlight the Baja off-road race this weekend. In springs MINT 400, BajaRacingNews.com interviewed Toby during contingency. When asked if Toby approached Spains fierce moto-star Laia Sanz, 'to date', Price replied, with his trademark Aussie smile, "Oh yes mate, I told her - our kids would be Fast!".
Australians Toby Price and Matt Brabham are set to tackle the 2018 Baja 1000 this weekend. New FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Champion Toby Price will join three-time Baja 500 winner Bryce Menzies in the Trophy Truck category. Meanwhile Brabham, who currently leads the Stadium Super Trucks (SST) series with one round remaining, will share a Textron Wildcat XX RGpro edition in the Pro UTV, normally aspirated class with Todd Romano and Gavin Harlien.
“Really excited to announce I’ll be teaming up with Bryce Menzies of Menzies Motorsports for the Baja 1000 in the new AWD TT, testing went good and it’s a beast, I can’t wait to get into it,” said Price, who last raced in the event in 2016. Brabham’s berth comes courtesy of an invitation from SST owner Robby Gordon and marks a departure from the circuit style competition the third-generation racer is familiar with.“It was Robby’s decision to bring me on board, it’s not my background but I’m quite confident that I can get up to speed,” said Brabham. “I’m going to go easy at first, but will hopefully be able to quickly get up to speed and have some fun.“It’s a dangerous race but that’s the nature of off-road racing.

BREAKING REPORTS BEFORE THE GREEN FLAG
*CBP to Close Lanes at San Ysidro and Otay Mesa
November 12, 2018
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is announcing lane closures
starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the San Ysidro and Otay Mesa
ports of entry.
At least three northbound vehicle lanes at San Ysidro and one lane at Otay Mesa will be closed to install and pre-position port hardening infrastructure equipment in preparation for the migrant caravan and the potential safety and security risk that it could cause.
“CBP has been and will continue to prepare for the potential arrival of thousands of people migrating in a caravan heading towards the border of the United States,” said Pete Flores, Director of Field Operations in San Diego. “These preparations include training exercises, deploying additional CBP personnel, and partnering with the U.S. military to harden our ports of entry and the border area between those legal crossings into the U.S.”
Department of Defense personnel are installing concertina wire, and pre-positioning jersey barriers, barricades, and fencing as requested by CBP under Operation Secure Line.
CBP will provide an update when the materials are removed and the lanes re-opened, however it is not anticipated to take place until sometime after people in the caravan arrive to the border. CBP officials recommend that persons traveling northbound to the U.S. anticipate possible increased wait times because of the lane closures.
“CBP officials in charge at our local border crossings must always maintain security while we work to efficiently process legitimate trade and travel into the U.S.,” said Flores. “The materials will be used to help strengthen border security, to ensure the safety of the American people, the traveling public, CBP personnel and the communities in which we serve.”

UPDATE: November 17, 2018
2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE Baja Racer makes its USA Debut at Long Beach IMS, during BAJA 1000 2018
2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE was planning to Race in 2018 Baja 1000
UPDATED November 11, 2018:
"Stunt rider Ernie Vigil has sustained a serious injury to his ankle during an off-road training incident, meaning he will not be able to pilot Triumph’s new Scrambler 1200 XE at the Baja 1000 as planned. Vigil was riding his own 450 dirt bike at the time of the accident that means he won't be fit to ride in the Baja between November 14 - 18. Vigil was awaiting delivery of his Scrambler 1200, which Triumph have been adapting by adding engine protection bars, an extended sump guard, removing the front and rear indicators and pillion pegs, adding a race exhaust system and race-specification lighting. Speaking on the injury, Ernie said: "While waiting for my Scrambler 1200 to clear customs at LAX, I went on a training ride with my 450 dirt bike for some last minute conditioning. "Unfortunately I tucked the front wheel when pushing a hard turn. The bike flipped me over, landing on my ankle snapping the bone at both the tibula and fibula. "I’m absolutely devastated for the team and the effort they’ve put in in getting the bike over and ready, and also for everyone who supported me in training for this race." "Fortunately the break was clean and I had a very successful surgery. I’m going to return home to Albuquerque and expect to be laid up for around 4 weeks until I can start my rehabilitation, but I expect to make a full and quick recovery.
Ernie is a veteran of the Baja 1000 course and rode previously during the Mexican 1000 on a Triumph Tiger 800. We also had the pleasure of his attendance at the 2017 MCN London show, where he put the then new Triumph Street Triple 765 to the test."
By Dennis Chung, Oct. 25. ""Coinciding with the official reveal of the 2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE and XC, the British manufacturer announced its return to desert racing, in next month’s Baja 1000. Stuntman and experienced off-road and desert racer Ernie Vigil will compete in the Baja 1000 on the new Scrambler 1200 XE. Triumph played an important role in the early racing scrambler scene, with many riders in the ’60s modifying their bikes to race in the desert. Steve McQueen famously rode a Triumph TR6 in the 1964 International Six Days Enduro, alongside Cliff Coleman, along with Dave Ekins and McQueen’s stunt double for The Great Escape, Bud Ekins who both rode TR5s. Triumph says bikes like the Bonneville T120TT, Bonneville 120c, TR6c and SC were the “real” desert sleds that fueled the scrambler scene, which can be seen as a bit of a jab at Ducati‘s Scrambler Desert Sled. The race bike is mostly stock, except for the addition of engine protection bars, an extended sump guard and race-specification lighting and minus the turn signal indicators and pillion pegs. Vigil has never raced in the Baja 1000 but he is familiar with the course, having competed in the Mexican 1000 on a Triumph Tiger 800. “I am so excited to get the chance to not only take on the Baja 1000, but also to be the first racer to take Triumph’s next generation Scrambler back to desert racing where it all began", says Vigil.""
Golf Carts Race In The Baja 1000 2018
UTVs in three different classes are entered for this year’s Baja 1000, the 51st running of the legendary race and the final round of the 2018 SCORE World Desert Championship. This year’s event will take place on a challenging loop course of over 800 miles, including some roads that have never been raced on, that will both start and finish in Ensenada, Baja California. Coming off a controversial end to the Last Tijuana Race that saw initial winner Wes Miller stripped of his victory a week after the completion of the race, Rhys Millen will be first on the road among the 29 Pro UTV Forced Induction racers who are signed up for the event. Millen will be followed on the road by Brandon Schueler, Tony Riggs, Miller, and Scott Trafton. But it’s Wayne Matlock, winner of the season-opening San Felipe 250 and runner-up in both the Baja 500 and in Laughlin, who leads the championship by 34 points over Riggs. Matlock will be one of a number of drivers who will start towards the end of the Pro UTV FI field, rolling off 28th; others starting toward the back include Justin Lambert, who rolls off 24th, and Marc Burnett, who looks to improve on his seventh place in the point standings as the last starter in the class. 14 Pro UTV Normally Aspirated entries will also take on desert racing’s most iconic event, led by rookie points leader Kaden Wells. After taking third place finishes in the first two events of the season, Wells capitalized on San Felipe 250 and Baja 500 winner Kristen Matlock’s DNF in Laughlin on the way to his first victory, and now leads the standings by 12 over Paul Champion. Wells, Champion, and Alex Posegate will be the first three racers on the road, while Matlock caps off the NA entries. Completing the UTV entries are five Pro UTV Unlimited teams, led by Josh Herzing, Jesus Mendez Jr. , Kris Werth, Al McBeth, and Earl Berg. Mendez has already clinched the class championship with victories in the first three rounds of the championship. In addition to the usual UTV suspects, Robby Gordon has dual-entered the event in Pro UTV FI alongside his Trophy Truck entry. As in the TT class, where he qualified third, he’ll partner with son Max, Blade Hildebrand, and a host of others. They’ll roll off 23rd, toward the end of the class entry list.

November 12, 2018
"One say for the start of the Baja 1000 Off Road events, Proturismo has not yet totally paid the ejidos, and the Secretary of the Environment (SEMARNAT) has not yet issued its authorizations. The SEMARNAT representative in Baja California told Score International it has not provided the information the federal government has asked for to approve the permit.
Score has provided an incomplete Environmental Impact Report. SEMARNAT says vehicles will not be allowed to cross the Valle de los Cirios. The agency also warned that if the racers ignore their instructions and cross that area again, they will be subject to a criminal lawsuit before the federal Attorney General. Score was fined 500,000 pesos for the same reason for their 2017 race, and has still not paid it, as they intend to reach an agreement with SEMARNAT to repair the damages."

The girls name is magda angel. She has an instagram account. She was transfered to a san diego hospital ucsd trauma center. She had: "light swelling of the brain"!!!; crashed left eye socket; broken cheekbone; broken jaw and palate; broken wrist; broken ankle. The brain injury appears to be minor and hopefully won't leave permanent damage. But she is in for a very long recovery and reconstruction process, not to forget she makes her living with her looks, this could ruin her career.
