There is nobody that is racing to fund there program but to go win your class and get a few hundred bucks in the toughest race in the usa is pretty sad ! And yes there making way more than a vacation in Hawaii for all of that. Trying to say there doing it all for the love of the sport is comical. It's a business to make money. We all understand that. Giving back to the top 3 race winners in each class with a good payback would also be great for all the thousands they spent to race there event. There is plenty of money paid into classes that there not having to pay out to. A few hundred to be exact. A little less lobster and oysters to the guy that got a free vip ticket to if that's what it takes. . The payout ratio is way off for a big event like this. There getting free actors ( racers)for there tv show there making plenty of money."

dan200: "I don't wanna bring up old shizzz but it wasn't all that long ago that the team I was with had a great finish. (Factory Honda Ridgeline) Being Factory funded has a lot of baggage since we are representing something much bigger than ourselves. This a giant marketing thing and its a amazing race program. The team gear is on point and we look pretty in it. Truck is amazing. drivers/squad all on point. So we go and run the truck for 400 miles and finish pretty well. No down time. I think we got second in class. We were nowhere timing out or anything. Anyway, after this awesome day where we did awesome and we finish and now we get to drive up onto the box in front of that big banner that says Mint 400 on it and do a cool interview and get pictures and thank all the sponsors etc. guess what happens. No announcers. None. Not any. I guess its fair to be bothered a little about bad announcing or whatever but we have come a long way because there was a time that nobody at all was even there to greet you at the finish line and congratulate you. That was some pretty insulting stuff. At least they had the lights on on the stage".

"I believe it. I had to listen to the driver's meeting three times to figure out what they were saying. Multiple races at the same time and crossing each other, only distinguished by different markers, seemed like a horrible idea. "Pink is danger, but if your a motorcycle then pink marks your route" who tf came up with that idea.

Also waiting in line for wrist bands for 5 HOURS.

A huge jump at the beginning that is supposed to be a huge speed bump essentially, but wrecks you if you go over 15mph. The usual blatant money grab of everything else.
Have to say from an organization and logistics perspective, what an absolute cluster.

the MORE Racing Slash X Duel In The Desert February 25 and the SCORE San Felipe 250 March 29.

These 'martelli midget events' are now almost exclusively, utv races. Much like the 'hammeroids event', the entry numbers are large in utv's and zero, for real BAJA Racing Trucks.

The REAL teams aren't falling for the scam-fraud, joke gambling come-ons from the martellis or scammerking dave cole.

The MINT 400 Puke-Draw was last week at 4WP. We live streamed poker chip draws out of a helmet with racers from each class with 10 or more entries. Thanks to everyone who came out. Any class under 10 was randomly draw off the live stream, to keep things moving forward. For qualifying classes, it’s your qualifying start position. For non-qualifying classes, it’s your race start position.
